Empowered Parenting: Education & Support for Mothers Navigating Special Needs

Empowered Parenting is a psychoeducational group designed for mothers raising children with developmental, learning, or neurodivergent needs. This supportive environment provides education, practical tools, and connection with other mothers who understand the unique challenges of navigating systems, managing stress, and supporting their child’s growth.

This psychoeducational group is facilitated by counseling professionals passionate about supporting parents navigating developmental and neurodivergent needs.

What to Expect

Participants will:

✔ Learn strategies to reduce overwhelm and caregiver burnout
✔ Develop coping tools to support emotional regulation for both parent and child
✔ Increase confidence navigating educational and support systems
✔ Connect with other mothers facing similar experiences
✔ Gain practical tools to support daily functioning and family relationships

This program is educational in nature and is not therapy.

Program Details

  • Format: Virtual (telehealth)

  • Duration: 8 weeks

  • Session Length: 60 minutes

  • Group Size: Limited to 6–8 participants

  • Facilitator: Amanda Yi, Graduate Counseling Intern, and Annie Mozisek, LPC-Associate

    • Supervised by Maggie Aguilera, LPC-S

How the Process Works

  • Click the Register button on this page to complete the brief questionnaire and share your availability. This helps determine whether the group is a good fit. The form takes approximately 3–5 minutes to complete.

  • Group dates and times will be finalized based on participant availability and interest. You will receive additional information once scheduling is confirmed.

  • If the group moves forward, selected participants will receive details about start dates, expectations, and how to prepare for the first session.

  • Participants will attend weekly virtual sessions focused on education, practical tools, and supportive discussion with other mothers navigating similar experiences.
